Introducing our Picayune Cellars Champagne s’il vous plait sweatshirt! In honor of our new Black Label Grand Cru Champagne, we designed a one-of-a-kind sweatshirt in a buttery soft fleece featuring Picayune’s signature Champagne seal on the back and “Champagne s’il vous plait” on the front, both printed in a sumptuous gold foil that will last wash after wash. Marianne & the Picayune Champagne Seal
Our Picayune Champagne seal features “Marianne”, the French symbol of freedom, equality, and reason. She personified the French Republic since the Révolution française. Her Gallic rooster helmet – le coq gaulois; is a symbol of France itself (Like the bold Eagle is for the USA). True to her roots and upbringing, Claire wanted to celebrate her birth country as well as the Champagne source in this playful depiction of French idealism.
The Pierson Cuvelier Family
Claire’s love of Champagne led her to partner with a winemaking family in France to produce a 20% Chardonnay, 80% Pinot Noir champagne from the Grand Cru Terroir of Ambonnay, Aÿ, Bouzy and Louvois.
"I love Champagne and always have. For a hot second, I considered making a sparkling wine in the US, but realized it wasn’t right. I met the Pierson Cuvelier Family in 2021 and I have not looked back since. We share the same love and respect for the soil and we have the same vision about wines – their purity, their energy. We want our wines to be approachable and enjoyable for as many people as we can. We share a sense of authenticity and approachability that is special to me."
