The box plays a sound effect of a Champagne cork popping from a bottle.
Like the old "moo box" it contains a weighted, perforated block attached to a sealed bellows and a small vibrating reed (a thin metal or plastic blade). When you flip the box upside down, the heavy block falls and fills the bellows with air. When you turn it right-side up, the weight forces the air back out through the vibrating reed, creating the sound.
