The figure in the hat is entitled Mountain Chief. The art is backed by an antique map of Montana. The checks in the collage are meant to represent provisions, the map represents the homeland. The triangles are the mountains, which are believed to be the backbone of the universe for the Blackfeet. The dots inside the mountains are a star, also known as the beginning of our creation. The color green in the shirt symbolizes Spring time, and a new life.
