Established in 1996, OSR vineyard is rich in clay loam soil off Old Sonoma Road in Los Carneros. These organically farmed vineyards in the Carneros region of Napa are ideal for Merlot, with a long and cool growing season that coaxes full flavor development from the grape at lower sugars for a balanced, delicious wine with moderate alcohol (under 13%!).

This distinctive and personal label was created by Terrance Guardipee, a renowned Ledger artist from the Blackfeet Nation, in collaboration with Claire. The collage features French antique cheese and wine maps, alongside other vintage documents Claire discovered in France. Terrance drew upon an old Montana ledger from 1894. Each symbol within the artwork reflects meaningful chapters from Claire’s journey and adventures in the world of wine, capturing her story through striking visual elements.

Herb crusted Pork Tenderloin with Cherry-Balsamic Glaze

Pork tenderloin is lean yet tender, letting the Merlot’s fruit shine without overwhelming tannins. A cherry-balsamic glaze mirrors the wine’s ripe red fruit flavors and adds just enough acidity to balance. Fresh herbs bring a savory lift that complements Merlot’s soft spice and floral notes.

Wild Mushroom & Caramelized Onion Flatbread with Goat Cheese

Mushrooms add earthy depth that plays off Merlot’s subtle herbal and spice notes. Caramelized onions bring natural sweetness, echoing the wine’s ripe cherry and plum flavors. Goat cheese adds creamy tang, cutting through the wine’s richness.

Production Notes

Aged in 60 gallon French barrels for 20 months; 60% New French Oak. 188 cases produced.

Tasting Notes

This elegant Merlot greets the senses with a fragrant bouquet of ripe blueberry and cherry, complemented by subtle hints of roasted coffee grain. On the palate, it offers a plush, velvety texture layered with generous notes of blackberry pie, delicate vanilla, and a savory touch of olive. Supple tannins provide structure and poise, leading to a remarkably long and graceful finish. Enjoy now or in the next 7 years.
