#8 Spiderweb Turquoise Gold Ring
The fabulous Number Eight Turquoise cabochon in this masterpiece gold ring by Darryl Dean Begay was found in a heavily worn ring, ostensibly owned by a miner who had it made in the 1930s. The Number 8 mine of Eureka County north of Carlin, Nevada produced some of the most highly sought after Turquoise gemstones in the world.
The ring came to Darryl as part of a collection and was overlooked until he rediscovered it, giving it a new life. This is the gem grade stone, representing the top 1% from the mine, as rare a Turquoise as we have seen in decades. The distinctive spider web matrix is emblematic of the Number 8 mine. The 18K Gold setting lays atop a Tufa casted band, further accented with 2 smaller turquoise cabochons forming the palm of a hand, flanking both sides of the band.
Darryl hand signed the interior of the band, additionally with 18kt designating the gold band and setting.
