Tasting Notes
Fragrant stone fruit, kaffir lime and mandarin leaf lead into a vibrant, textured palate with beautiful tension, freshness and a long, balanced finish.
Vineyard Notes
Hyde Vineyard is one of Napa Valley's benchmark vineyards, established by Larry Hyde in 1979 in the cool reaches of Los Carneros. Morning fog and persistent afternoon breezes from the Petaluma Gap create a long, slow growing season, preserving remarkable freshness while allowing Sauvignon Blanc to develop intense aromatics. The vineyard also holds a special place in the history of California Sauvignon Blanc. Larry Hyde cultivated his own selection of Sauvignon Musqué, prized for its expressive aromatic character, and later donated the material to UC Davis Foundation Plant Services.
Winemaker Notes
For our 2025 vintage, the grapes were whole-cluster pressed and fermented in just seven barrels: five new French oak barrels, one neutral French oak barrel, and one stainless-steel barrel. The wine remained on its lees, with monthly stirring to build texture and depth while preserving the beautiful energy of this cool-climate fruit.
